If you’re looking for free family fun this half-term, Access Lincoln and St Mark’s Shopping Centre have just the thing.
On Thursday 31 May, they will join forces to hold a free family bike ride. Cyclists will need to gather in the garden area at St Mark’s Shopping Centre at 10am before heading down to Boultham Park, following a safe, traffic-free cycle route.
At the park, there will be time to play and you can enjoy a free drink and slice of cake at the brand new café. Then the group will head back to St Mark’s for a 12.30pm finish.
Alison Mackfall, Access Lincoln project co-ordinator, said:
“Our fun family bike ride is the perfect opportunity to get out and get active this half-term.
“It’s also a great way to treat the kids and keep them entertained without breaking the bank.
“We’ve got our fingers crossed that the weather will be on our side, because, if it stays sunny, this will be a great morning out for everyone.”
Those taking part will need to provide their own bike, and are encouraged to bring a bike lock and wear a helmet. Alternatively, you can rent a hirebike from the nearby St Mark’s station – visit http://www.hirebikelincoln.co.uk to learn more.
Although the event is free, booking is essential as places are limited. To book call 01522 581906 or email firstname.lastname@example.org . All children must be accompanied by an adult.
Access Lincoln is a Lincolnshire County Council initiative, supported by Lincoln BIG and funded by the Department of Transport.
