Your guide to finding the right bike

Do you want to start cycling but don’t own a bike just yet? Don’t worry, we are here to help!

We know buying a bike can sometimes be a struggle with the different options and models available which can often become quite confusing. We’ve put together a handy guide to help get you started and ensure you get the right bike for you.

Before you get pick a bike you’ll first need to think about what type of cycling you plan to do. For example, will it just be for occasional use or commuting to work daily? Knowing this, and how much you want to spend, will narrow down the different bike options.

Once you have settled on the type of bike you are after, you should then visit multiple bike shops. It will take more time but you will get to see a range of bikes on offer, as well as weigh up prices and aftercare options. Don’t overlook second-hand bikes either – they can offer great value for money!

Make sure to try out riding different bikes and get a feel for the one that’s right for you. Even if you know what type of bike you want, try a range anyway just in case something better comes along.

Once you have picked a bike you are comfortable with, make sure you have a think about it before purchasing. Only buy the bike if you know it is the right one for you. After all, a bike you love will be even better to ride!
