Lincoln has lots of different walking events taking place throughout the year, including three different walking festivals. Find out more about each walking event below and give some a go!

Walking events

Spires & Steeples Challenge
The Spires & Steeples Challenge is a charity run or walk following public footpaths along the Spires and Steeples Arts & Heritage Trail from Lincoln Cathedral to St Denys’ Church, Sleaford. The challenge can be completed as a 13 or 22-mile run or walk and usually takes place in October.

Santa Fun Run & Walk
The Santa Fun Run & Walk is an annual event that helps raise money for Lincoln charities. The event, which takes place in December, is a two lap (3.5km) course set around the Bailgate area of Lincoln.

Walking festivals

Lincolnshire Wolds Walking Festival
Lincolnshire Wolds Walking Festival takes place every year at the end of May and lasts just over two weeks. Last year there were 103 guided walks over 16 days!

NK Walking Festival
NK Walking Festival is a two-week walking festival fun for all ages that takes place in July. The North Kesteven Walking Festival is a celebration of the countless walking opportunities available within the district with lots of different types of walks available.

South Lincolnshire Walking Festival
South Lincolnshire Walking Festival is full of hidden treasures to explore through the historic city. From children’s adventure walks, nature trails, photography walks and more, there’s something for everyone. The festival usually takes place at the end of September.

There are also lots of walking trails and guided walks in Lincoln to explore.
